Dr. Donald Solomon is an ear, nose, and throat surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric otology. He also wrestled in college and coached youth wrestling. A wrestling family where, inevitably, the ears suffered. He has seen what happens on the mat from both sides of the exam table.
EarArmor came out of that experience. The treatments he could offer patients with ear hematomas were a bolster stitched through the ear (painful, invasive, infection-prone) or a flat magnetic disc that can't follow the ear's shape. His patients deserved a third option: non-invasive, molded to the individual ear, and available before injury ever happens. The first drawing was made in January 2024; a working device existed a month later.
The ear plug line answers a question parents of children with ear tubes ask him every week: how do I keep water out? A custom-moldable magnetic plug, shaped at home and sized for any ear, is his answer.
EarArmor is bigger than two products: a company dedicated to advancing ear health through innovative, non-invasive technologies that protect, treat, and improve the health of the ear, building the leading portfolio of products for athletes, patients, and everyday consumers.
