Hematoma System Ear Plugs Investors & Partners About
Product 01 · The Moldable Magnet System

Stop cauliflower ear before it's permanent.

A non-invasive magnetic compression device that molds to the ear's exact contours, applying constant, uniform pressure after hematoma drainage so the ear heals in its original form. No stitches through cartilage. No rigid discs.

Untreated auricular hematoma, known as cauliflower ear
The problem

Untreated, an ear hematoma becomes a deformity for life.

Blunt trauma, common in wrestling, boxing, MMA, and rugby, causes blood to collect between the ear cartilage and its lining. Without drainage and constant pressure, that blood fibroses into the permanent deformity known as cauliflower ear. Both of today's pressure options fall short:

Invasive bolsters

Sutured through the skin and cartilage. Painful, an infection risk requiring antibiotics, and removal means another office procedure.

Rigid magnetic discs

Non-invasive, but flat. They can't follow the ear's ridges and hollows, so pressure is uneven and the ear doesn't return to its pre-injury form.

How it works

Uniform pressure, shaped by your own ear.

Two magnets with overlying heat-moldable EVA pull toward each other, sandwiching the ear in constant, even compression exactly where hematomas form.

Soften in hot water

About 40 seconds is all the moldable EVA material needs.

Mold to the ear

Press it on. It conforms to the concha, the fossa, every contour, and sets as it cools.

Device worn with magnetic compression
03
Magnets do the rest

Constant, uniform compression while the ear heals, comfortable enough to wear all week.

When to use it

Don't wait for the injury.

Before injury Recommended
Mold it while your ears are healthy

Mold the device to your healthy ear before the season. If injury comes, apply it immediately after drainage. A mold of your original ear gives the best chance of keeping its original form.

Think of it like a mouthguard for your ears: inexpensive insurance you buy before you need it.

After injury
Worn after drainage

Once the hematoma is drained, the system is worn for about one week. It holds even pressure over the drained area so blood can't re-collect and scar while the ear heals.

The device has shown success on multiple patients in Dr. Solomon's clinic.

From clinic to CAD

Engineered for the ear's real anatomy.

The system is designed as a pair: a triangular fossa device and a conchal bowl device, covering the two zones where hematomas form. From the first sketch in January 2024 to today's engineered prototypes with Merge Medical Device Studio, every iteration has been shaped by clinical use.

“I wanted a non-invasive option that restores the ear to its original form, and an alternative to the bolster: the stitches, the pain, the infection risk,” says Dr. Donald Solomon, founder.
